Resource Roundup: The Not-So-Secret ACCA Member Benefits – Third Edition

Have you ever been seeking an ACCA member benefits resource but can’t seem to find what you’re looking for? Are you a new member looking for the bountiful resources available to you? Resource Round-up is here to help. While we will only hit on three of ACCA’s member resources today, know that there are hundreds available to you on our website. Safety Series 

ACCA has created the Safety Series training videos for you to use when training you and your team on important safety protocols in the field. These videos, combined with daily practice and procedures, will provide contractors and technicians with the skills needed to stay safe daily in their work.  

For example, the Fire Extinguisher Safety Series video gives field staff the basic knowledge they need to operate a fire extinguisher properly. The video also explains different types of fire extinguishers, what types of fires to use them on, as well as other safety precautions to take when putting out a fire.

ComforTools® 

ACCA’s ComforTools were created to help you educate your customers on a wide variety of customer HVAC-related questions. These single-page leave-behinds include information from a non-profit third-party source (ACCA) to help build confidence in your business with your customers. Best of all, these tools are customizable, so you can add your own logo and company information. 

Our most recently created ComforTool is regarding the 25C Energy Efficiency Tax Credit. Earlier this year, Congress extended the popular 25C tax credit for federal taxpayers who install qualified energy-efficient retrofits in their primary residence, including higher efficiency heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)equipment through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). This ComforTool is used to help inform your customers about the tax credit, and the information they will need to obtain the credit.

Codes and Coffee 

The monthly webinar series, Codes and Coffee, brings hot HVACR code and law topics to the forefront. This series has covered everything from GFCI compliance, supply chain forecasts, driving consumer market awareness, refrigerant transitions, and so much more. Codes and Coffee is hosted by David Bixby, ACCA’s manager of codes and standards, and an invited guest who is considered an expert on the topic. Typically held on the second Wednesday of each month, you can keep an eye out for the next Codes and Coffee on our upcoming events page: https://www.acca.org/education/events.
