Matt, Should My Company Have Safety Policies in Place?

In this edition of "HVAC Skill Builder," Matt discusses if your company should put safety policies in place.

Q: Should My Company Have Safety Policies in Place? A: Absolutely. Safety policies are a great way to protect you as the business owner, your business technicians, and your customers and you should be having these meetings, these safety meetings, at least once or twice a month. For example, provide your technicians with a steel-toe or composite-toe shoes require them to wear a cut glove whenever they're on a job site doing any type of work, require them to wear refrigerant gloves when they're handling stuff for the refrigerant. Again, this is just a great way to protect everybody and also one thing with the safety policy is if you go to customer's houses and you see a safety issue, for example, you have a carbon monoxide detector that's not hardwired in, or you see something that's against code that can cause as issues or cause problems with persons or property, it's a great way to help you also increase your revenue while keeping everyone safe.
