Matt, what are the common causes of uneven cooling or heating in different house rooms? Some of the most common causes from uneven cooling or heating in a home is going to be airflow going back to the ducts. Ideally you want to have a supply and return in every room but it’s not always feasible. Some people have to open up a bedroom door for it to get comfortable and that’s a telltale sign that the system is going to need a duct modification. So if you have rooms that are heating or cooling it could be a ducting issue. Typically it is. However, if you have poor insulation, poor windows, and a house is facing a certain direction it can have more exposure causing that temperature difference even if the duct system is designed and installed correctly. So again you want to pay attention to the ducting and the construction details of that house or that room and where it’s facing.
