Posted on:
The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) released the following statement from Barton James, ACCA president and CEO, regarding the confirmation of Andrew Wheeler as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA):
“ACCA is pleased that the Senate confirmed Andrew Wheeler as the fifteenth EPA Administrator. He has served the public, with distinction, as a staffer in the United States Senate, Deputy EPA Administrator, and acting EPA Administrator.
“Throughout his service to our country, Administrator Wheeler has demonstrated a commitment to balancing environmental issues and the impact that regulations have on job creators and our economy. ACCA’s staff leadership has worked closely with Wheeler throughout his time in government. In recognition of his commitment to working with contractors, ACCA supported his nomination and urged the Senate to confirm him as EPA Administrator.
“As the EPA considers issues related to refrigerant phaseouts and other areas of interest to contractors, it is important that we have an EPA administrator who understands our industry. ACCA looks forward to working with Administrator Wheeler to support sound environmental policies and to address contractors’ visions of focusing efficiency programs on delivered efficiency, instead of those that are only equipment-based.”
