ACCA Produces Online Video To Educate Homeowners On Choosing The Right Contractor

Posted on:

ACCA, the nation’s largest association of indoor environmental systems professionals, has produced a new online video to help educate homeowners about how to choose a professional HVAC contractor to meet their heating and cooling needs. The 10 minute video is available at www.acca.org/consumer.

“ACCA developed this video for homeowners, because we feel there are many misperceptions about what a professional, quality contractor is and how a consumer can locate one in their area,” said Paul T. Stalknecht, president and CEO of ACCA. “We see this as an introduction and overview for homeowners who are doing research about their air conditioners, furnaces, or heat pumps. It’s meant to share the valuable information that they need to know, in terms they can easily understand, without overwhelming them.”

The new video features long-time ACCA member Steve Schmidt of Frederick Air in Frederick, MD, and is broken into five segments:

  1. Introduction
  2. Replacement vs. Repair
  3. Choosing The Right Contractor
  4. Equipment Selection
  5. How To Locate Professional Contractors

“We chose to work with Steve, because he is not only a contractor, but also an ACCA member who exemplifies the qualities of a true professional,” added Stalknecht. “Using his real-world experience of working with homeowners, along with feedback from our industry partners at HARDI and AHRI, we created a complete overview of what homeowners should know when they start looking for a contractor.”

ACCA encourages contractors to share this video, and all of its consumer resources, with their potential, new, and existing customers. These resources can be found at www.acca.org/consumer.
