Starting January 1, 2023, the Department of Energy will be updating its energy efficiency standards for HVACR equipment. In addition to this, regional standards in the South and Southwest will be based on the date of installation, not the date of manufacture. These regulations could make existing supply shortages worse, and open the doors for distributors to shift responsibility to the customer. It is more important than ever for the industry to be ready for these standards, and to join the fight against them.

ACCA will be hosting a panel discussion and breakfast at ACCA 2022, focusing on how the EPA’s disposable cylinder ban will affect the industry. ACCA, along with HARDI and PHCC have been fighting the EPA’s ban on non-refillable cylinders for HFC refrigerants, which is set to go into effect in 2025 and 2027.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit lifted the stay of OSHA’s vaccination, testing, and face covering emergency temporary standard (ETS), meaning that it is set to go into effect.
