Pro-Contractor Members of Congress Well Positioned for 118th Congress

As ACCA proudly reported in November, one of our own was elected to the U.S. Senate in the midterm elections. This week, Senator Markwayne Mullin got his committee assignments. He will serve on two committees that are important to ACCA’s policy priorities including the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, and the Committee on Environment and Public Works. We proudly congratulate Senator Mullin on this achievement and know he will continue to be a leading voice for contractors at the highest levels of government. To our knowledge, he is the first contractor ever elected to the United States Senate.
Another one of ACCA’s friends in Congress, Representative Roger Williams, has been named Chairman of the House Small Business Committee. As a small business owner, he understands first-hand many of the challenges that ACCA members face. ACCA has worked with Congressman Williams to promote energy efficiency tax policy as well as legislation on career and technical education. The House Small Business Committee has jurisdiction over matters related to small business financial aid, regulator flexibility, and paperwork reduction. We look forward to continuing our work with Chairman Williams and the House Small Business Committee to promote ACCA’s policy priorities.
