Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division, a top selling brand of ductless cooling and heating systems, has formed a new support department, the Application Support and Development Group. The new group serves as product and sales support for both the residential and commercial markets, including the field sales team, manufacturer’s representatives, distributors, engineers, contractors and end users.
Leading this new group is Gary Nettinger, who rejoins Mitsubishi Electric as director of application support and development, responsible for managing the operations and productivity of the group. He has more than 25 years of HVAC service and training experience, having started his career in the industry as the national service manager at Mitsubishi Electric. Prior to his new role, Nettinger served as the vice president of the technical solutions group at Panasonic Corporation of North America, Newark, N.J., and the director of national service and training at Daikin AC, New York. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management and leadership from Capella University, Minneapolis.
Joe Vaughan, Al Blyler, Jim Jordan and Travis Byrd have been appointed as the group’s application support manager, senior supervisor and application specialists, respectively.
Under the supervision of Nettinger, this team is responsible for:
- Serving as subject matter experts. The group is charged with delivering design and application support as well as providing technical responses to questions regarding Mitsubishi Electric’s HVAC products.
- Aiding product applications. Working in conjunction with the Engineering Center, the group develops and implements plans and criteria for evaluating complex and unusual applications and assists engineering teams to deliver and execute field-based projects.
- Generating product solutions. The group works to solve complex product issues, assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed solutions and provides feedback to internal and external partners. The team assists in writing application notes and FAQs to document and streamline the response to recurring product questions.
- Supporting product sales. The group prepares pre- and post-sales support materials, assists in training and coordinates the projects and introduction of customers to the field sales team.
“Our Division has a long standing commitment to provide top quality product and sales support to all of the industry’s stakeholders,” says Dale Fields, senior director of national accounts, Mitsubishi Electric. “We’re confident the creation of the Application Support and Development Group will contribute to the industry-leading product development and the growth of Mitsubishi Electric’s presence in the U.S., which will in turn solidify the Division’s leading position in the industry.”
