The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) has awarded John Sedine of Engineered Heating & Cooling in Cedar Springs, Michigan, with the association’s Distinguished Service Award.
ACCA depends on the dedicated efforts of hundreds of volunteers who devote thousands of hours to committee service and providing leadership and guidance on standards development, public policy, and membership programs. All ACCA volunteers are incredibly valuable and deserve a debt of gratitude from the rest of the industry. Each year, ACCA recognizes one volunteer who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to ACCA and the contracting industry with the Distinguished Service Award.
John Sedine has been a devoted leader in the industry and ACCA for more than 25 years. He served as Chairman of the ACCA Board of Directors in 2010, served on the Board of the Michigan contracting association, and has served on several state and national code councils. John has contributed to the success of ACCA’s standards and codes programs by lending his expertise to the development of multiple ACCA initiatives, including the Quality Installation program, ACCA Manual LLH – Low Load Homes, and countless other efforts.
“There are few individuals in our industry who have dedicated as much time and energy to improving it than John Sedine,” said Barton James, ACCA President and CEO. “While John is often recognized for his technical expertise, I must note that he has helped me in my role as ACCA’s new President and CEO. His years of leadership and guidance play an important role in my success and the success of our entire professional staff at ACCA as we work to ensure ACCA remains the industry thought leader.”
Sedine was recognized for his service during ACCA’s 2019 Annual Conference and Expo, March 4-6 in San Antonio, Texas.
