Fast-Track Your Business: Power Up with Peers at the ACCA MIX Group® MIXer!

Posted on:

HVAC contractors consistently rave about ACCA’s MIX Group® program, calling it a game-changer for their businesses. Many have even joined ACCA specifically for this program, highlighting its value as a top membership benefit. So, what makes it so special?

ACCA MIX Groups® are the ultimate peer-to-peer networking for contractors. In a MIX Group®, you’ll connect with non-competing colleagues in intimate groups, ready to share secrets and swap success stories. Dive deep into real-world challenges and opportunities, from sales and marketing to staffing and operations. Imagine: twice a year, your trusted peers become your advisors, dissecting your business and offering frank, actionable insights. Walk away with a fresh perspective, proven strategies, and a renewed sense of camaraderie.

Ready to unlock the potential of your business?

Be sure to attend the ACCA MIX Group® MIXer at ACCA 2024! During the MIXer, we will deploy Speed Networking technology to facilitate 1:1 meetings between those looking to add members to an existing group and candidates seeking to join a group. Here are the event details:

Date: Tuesday, March 12th
Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm (Must arrive and check-in by 6:45pm)
Location: Cayman Pavilion & Lawn at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort Universal Orlando

During the MIXer, we will use Speed Networking software to match MIX Group® participants and candidates. Once you register for this event, you will receive an invitation via email from Speed Networking. It will provide the information you need to set up your Speed Networking profile and answer a brief survey (takes less than two minutes) relating to:

  • Markets Served (residential, commercial etc.)
  • Sales Volume Range
  • Number of Employees
  • Union Shop (yes or no)
  • Market Area

Once you’ve answered these questions, you will be asked to rank your responses as they pertain to the people/companies you would like to meet.

Respond to the questions based on your company or group profile and rank your responses based on the groups or candidates that interest you. Group members should rank them based on the profile of the companies you would consider a good fit for your group. For example, your group might be predominantly commercial contractors, but some in the group are considering getting into residential. As you rank the questions, you would rank a residential contractor response higher than commercial.

ACCA Nomads MIX Group®

If you are a candidate looking to join a group, answer the questions based on your company profile. When ranking the responses, base them on the profile of the group that might be a good fit for your business. For instance, your company might have $10M in revenue and you have plans to grow significantly, so being in a group with a higher sales volume might be a better fit. In this scenario, you would rank the higher sales volume ranges higher than similar or lower sales volume.

The entire process to set up your profile and respond to the survey takes less than two minutes. Please complete your profile and answer the survey BEFORE the event.

Once everyone has completed the survey, the Speed Networking software will, based on your responses, match group members with candidates that closely match rankings and schedule approximately four ten-minute meetings. After the Speed Networking portion of the event, attendees will have time to reconnect with contractors with the potential for a good fit and to mingle informally with other leading contractors.

As you can imagine, meetings are going to be intense, so be sure to come prepared. Bring your business cards, a notepad, and a pen. Also, have some questions and highlights about yourself and your business ready.

Questions Candidates Might Ask:

  • Tell me about the overall make-up of your group.
  • How often does your group meet?
  • Reviewing financials is important to me as it is a true measure of success; does your group conduct such reviews?
  • Can others from my company participate in the group?
  • How long have you been in your MIX Group® and what effect has participating in the group had on your business?

Questions Current MIX Group® Members Might Ask:

  • Is your company family owned?
  • What is your position in the company?
  • What do you hope to achieve by participating in a MIX Group®?
  • How do you think you can contribute to the group?

Current MIX Groups® are encouraged to send several members of your group to this event as it has the potential to provide you with multiple perspectives on candidates. Likewise, candidates can gain better insight into a group by meeting with multiple members from it.

Did I mention cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served the entire time?

Be sure to register for ACCA 2024 NOW and attend this event! See you in Orlando!

This event is for contractors only.
