Posted on:

Do you want to connect with the ACCA community and learn about the most up-to-date ideas, tactics, and best practices? Do you want to gain insight from diverse speakers and meet exhibitors dedicated to the HVACR industry? Lastly, do you want to grow your business and invest in your company’s future? If so, the ACCA 2022 Conference & Expo is the right event for you.

ACCA 2022 is a three-day conference that will take place at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel in St. Louis, MO. The ACCA 2022 Conference & Expo helps HVAC contractors optimize for business growth and success by learning from the industry’s most successful owners, entrepreneurs, top consultants, and innovative and creative up-and-comers. The must-attend event focuses on HVACR training opportunities and features powerhouse speakers discussing critical and timely topics affecting the industry today. Sessions throughout the conference will cover a wide range of topics that will help contractors grow into better business owners while earning a higher profit margin year after year. Still on the fence about attending? Let’s dive into the plethora of benefits ACCA 2022 has to offer, in addition to important details you need to know before attending.

The Conference Offers Better Networking Opportunities

During ACCA 2022, contractors will have the opportunity to learn and engage with other companies in the HVACR industry. Over the span of three days, attendees can network with peers from all over the country and learn about the most recent and efficient tactics and best practices in the industry.

“The greatest benefit of attending the conference is the networking,” said Lee Rosenberg, Chairman of Rosenberg Indoor Comfort. “It’s among the best and brightest of our industry professionals.”

The conference is ideal for all members of the HVACR community, even if you are just starting out or a seasoned contractor. This provides the opportunity for attendees to speak with a wide variety of HVACR industry members and share useful tips on the trade.

“As a young contractor, I thought that networking was a waste of time and I didn’t want to talk to my competition,” said Cody Novini, President of SoCal Airflow Pros. “However, I learned that networking with other contractors that are willing to help will teach you things that you don’t know.”

In addition, attending ACCA 2022 will provide you with the opportunity to connect with our talented speakers. This year, our Keynote Speaker, Gerry O’Brion, will be presenting on business growth. As the Founder of What Big Brands Know and the creator of The Power of BECAUSE framework, O’Brion will teach contractors how to stand out and become the #1 choice in crowded industries. In addition to O’Brion, other ACCA 2022 speakers will include:

  • Lee Rosenberg from Rosenberg Indoor Comfort
  • Ryan Kletz from Classic Air’s One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning
  • Patrick Conner from Husch Blackwell
  • Edward McFarlane from Haller Enterprises
  • Steve Schmidt from Frederick Air, Inc
  • Ishan Heru from Community Connections
  • Sarah Michel from Velvet Chainsaw
  • Michael Sauer from Scorpion
  • Susan Frew from Sunshine Plumbing & Heating
  • Brooke Duncan from Adams & Reese, LLP
  • Lisa Ryan from Lisa Ryan Speaks

While ACCA 2022 officially begins on the morning of March 28th, festivities get underway on the evening of March 27th with a reception for ACCA’s MIX groups. The two-hour reception begins at 5pm and will feature a “speed dating” activity which will allow contractors to interact with each other and find a MIX group that is similar to their own business.

“This is definitely a unique and brand-new event that we’ve never done before,” said Matt Grizzard, Director of Membership and Advocacy. “It is straight to the point, and we will not be wasting time.”

During the event, contractors will fill out a questionnaire addressing important information such as their market area, employee numbers, how long they’ve been in the business, etc. Once it has been submitted, an algorithm will match contractors with a similar business model and cut down the time they use normally when asking for basic information.

“We know that it’s hard to find someone who will fit into your MIX group,” said Grizzard. “When you find the right person, they get to be real friends and improve each other’s business.”

The Conference Offers an Opportunity to Continue your Education

In addition to networking opportunities, attending ACCA 2022 will allow you to continue your education in the HVACR industry. As a contractor, it is your responsibility to break out of your same routine, and continuing education is an invaluable asset for your business. By attending ACCA 2022, you will have the opportunity to observe the industry from a different perspective which will provide you with new approaches that will grow your business.

“ACCA and their staff have turned ACCA Conference into the most educational, informative, and worthy conference out of all the HVAC and trade conferences anywhere in the world,” said Brian Stack, President of Stack Heating & Cooling.

Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the HVACR industry is constantly evolving and growing. The future of the industry is looking brighter than ever but it is important that contractors avoid becoming stagnant as constant development is always a good sign of a well-prospering business.

“I love that ACCA is always reinventing itself because it’s a great example for all of us contractors,” said Joe Nichter from Comfort Systems USA Southwest. “We need to keep changing too, and ACCA’s show is where that change happens.”

It is always a good idea to be on the lookout for the newest industry trends, all of which can be found at the ACCA 2022 Conference & Expo.

“Every single trend that has changed this industry for the better ACCA has been part of,”
said Mitchell Cropp, President of CroppMetcalfe Services.

There are many ways to educate yourself, and ACCA 2022 will include multiple sessions that will benefit you, including:

  • The Leadership Forum – Featuring top manufacturing industry leaders, this interactive session focuses on current events affecting manufacturers and the HVACR supply chain. In addition, leading manufacturer representatives will join for an interactive Q&A session where contractors can ask key questions and address industry representatives directly.
  • The Contractor Forum Live: Ask the Experts – This session will allow networking with top contractors and will feature a lively discussion of problem-solving that contractors have proven to be successful.
  • ACCA Town Hall: Contractors Lead the Way – This session will address advocacy issues affecting contractors today. During the session, contractors are allowed to share their thoughts and insights on ACCA’s advocacy activities and help shape key initiatives.
  • The Distributors’ Breakfast Club – This session will feature a lively discussion to learn about improving your operations and increasing profitability.
  • Lessons in Leadership – This session will feature ACCA’s leadership transition and will give you step-by-step instructions on how to take what you learned, break it down into workable tasks, and put it to work for you.

The Conference Sparks Inspiration

While it may not seem like it, inspiration is important when it comes to growing one’s business. Inspired contractors are given the means and the motivation to rise above, be creative, grow closer to their goals, learn from others, and achieve overall success.

By attending this variety of sessions, you will be able to maximize your attention and expose yourself to new ideas, projects, and new people that will for sure promote inspiration.

“I’ve been attending the annual conference for well over thirty years,” said Rosenberg. “Without a doubt, I always come away with a number of ideas which we implement in our business to increase productivity and profitability.”

Lastly, simply being around the best contractors will inspire you to do better and they will be there to push you and encourage you to grow and become the best version of yourself.

“We go to industry meetings to soak up ideas that we can use in our own business,
said Narissa Rampey from Air Assurance. “Well, if you’re going to steal an idea, you better make sure you steal from the best– and the best contractors are only ever together in one place: ACCA and Show. That’s why I go.”

The Conference Allows Contractors to Have Fun

Lastly, attending ACCA 2022 doesn’t have to be monotonous. In fact, it can be fun for many contractors in the HVACR industry. During the three-day conference, contractors will be sitting with new people that can start amazing connections and friendships.

“A favorite memory from a past excursion was riding the shuttle bus home after exhausting ourselves at Disney World. There were some folks who may or may not have embarrassed themselves during a parade that evening,” said Kimya Cajchun, Director of Events and Benchmarking. “That was over ten years ago, but all of us keep in touch after all these years. The connections we made are strong.”

In addition, traveling to a new place will provide contractors with the opportunity to experience different types of cuisine and tourist attractions, while appreciating the history behind the new city they will be visiting.

This year, ACCA will be hosting numerous tours throughout St. Louis such as the:

  • The Budweiser Tour
  • The Historic Union Station Tour
  • Grant’s Farm Tour
  • Hit the Hill Tour

“If you can only go to one event a year, this is the conference to go to,” said Stack. “ACCA Conference is the best conference out there, period.”
