Rheem Redesigns Hydronic Air Handler, Debuts More Efficient Version

Rheem recently launched a redesigned hydronic air handler, which is an important element of the Rheem  Integrated Heating & Water Heating System. Now available in the United States and Canada, the updated Rheem Hydronic Air Handler incorporates a new, high-efficiency permanent magnet motor, which helps upgrade the electrical efficiency of the air handler.

Powered by Tankless Technology, the Rheem Integrated Heating & Water Heating System provides a unique and highly efficient way to heat both the air and water in a home—while also being compatible with Rheem air conditioners and heat pumps. When a Rheem tankless gas water heater is matched with the hydronic air handler, hot water is circulated through the air handler and is then re-circulated back to the tankless water heater. This pairing of products provides a soft, comfortable heat to the home while maintaining comfortable humidity levels regardless of the climate.

The redesigned Rheem Hydronic Air Handler is AHRI-certified and can meet ENERGY STAR qualifications when paired with certain Rheem high efficiency air conditioners and heat pumps to create a home comfort system.

Coastal Living is “A Day at the Beach” with Carrier’s WeatherShield™ Protection

Carrier, a leader in high technology heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration solutions, launched two new units with WeatherShield™ protection to provide a superior rust and corrosion defense against coastal elements that can fade finishes, corrode metals, and more. The new Infinity® series two-stage heat pump and air conditioner with WeatherShield™ protection stand up to the harsher elements of the seacoast longer than standard heat pumps and air conditioners, making coastal living a “day at the beach.”

“For those living in coastal regions in the U.S., there is a need for heating and cooling products that can provide lasting comfort and durability within that harsh climate,” said Matt Nuijens, Carrier brand manager. “Carrier is leading the way with the Infi nity 16 heat pump and the Infinity 17 air conditioner with WeatherShield protection that are built to endure the sea air longer than other units. We want our coastal customers spending a great day enjoying the beach, rather than worrying about the reliability of their heat pump or air conditioner.”

NATE Continues Aggressive Consumer Outreach Campaign

NATE, the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for HVACR technicians, is continuing its efforts to educate homeowners about the importance of selecting contractors who hire NATE-certifi ed technicians. Initially launched in 2011, this consumer awareness campaign primarily focuses on educating consumers about NATE through national network radio advertisements, which are currently underway on a mix of news, sports and entertainment programs. In addition to these radio spots, NATE is also partnering with industry manufacturers who are including NATE in their own ads to help spread the word about the quality assurance offered by NATE certification.

The ads are strategically scheduled to air during the spring and fall, reaching homeowners when they are beginning to think about preparing their air conditioning and heating systems. The message of the radio spots explains that NATE certification offers consumer protection and peace-of-mind, driving listeners to the NATE consumer website (www.hvacradvice. com) to find a qualified contractor in their area.
