Hey Ed, what is this SHR stuff? SHR stuff, let's start with what SHR actually represents. It's an acronym, and if you're in the HVAC industry and see another acronym, you're probably about sick of them like I am. Nonetheless, SHR stands for sensible heat ratio, and sensible heat ratio is nothing more than a numerical expression to show us how much work an air-conditioning system is doing, or the difference between a sensible BTU gain and the latent gain, the sensible heat versus the moisture in the air in a structure. Moving forward we're going to start seeing the acronym of SHF or sensible heat factor be used for the sensible heat ratio of equipment and sensible heat ratio will be continued in use when we're speaking about a structure. And that's the way I see it.
