“The future of HVACR is being written right now”: ACCA Board Chair Eddie McFarlane’s powerful call to action for contractors
Posted on:

We stand at a defining moment for the HVACR industry. The coming years will bring rising costs, regulatory changes, and workforce challenges unlike anything we’ve seen before.
But these are not reasons to retreat. They are calls to action.
The days of sitting back and waiting for the dust to settle are over. The future of HVACR is being written right now, and it will be written by those who step up, speak out, and take action.
ACCA exists for this reason: to ensure that contractors—not regulators, not corporations, not outside interests—have the loudest voice in shaping this industry.
As your new Board Chair, I am both honored and energized to serve during such a pivotal time. This year, we are doubling down on advocacy, workforce development, and member engagement. But we can’t do it alone—we need you with us.
That means showing up, speaking up, and getting involved:
- Join one of ACCA’s volunteer committees and lend your voice to critical industry conversations. Learn more at acca.org/volunteer.
- Get prior approval for ACCA’s Political Action Committee (PAC) to support elected leaders who understand our business. Learn more at acca.org/advocacy/acca-pac/acca-pac-application.
- When asked, participate in ACCA’s ACTion Alerts and help influence the policies that impact your work every day. Learn more at acca.org/advocacy.
When contractors are united, we are a force. And when we act together, we shape a better future—not just for our companies, but for the entire HVACR industry.
If you’re reading this and haven’t yet engaged with ACCA, my message to you is simple: now is the time. Because the future won’t wait. And neither will we.
I recently sat down with Alec Stevanovski at Homepros to discuss our industry’s most pressing challenges, how ACCA plans to navigate them, and why we need the HVACR contractor community’s voice now more than ever.
