Reflections from our 2024-2025 Chair

As 2025 gets started, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the incredible successes the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) has achieved this past year. Under the exceptional leadership of CEO Barton James and the dedicated ACCA staff, our organization has made significant strides in advancing the HVACR industry while staying true to our strategic plan.

One of the most notable accomplishments of 2024 has been ACCA’s continued advocacy on behalf of HVACR professionals nationwide. With a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, the ACCA team has demonstrated unparalleled vigilance and expertise, ensuring that the voice of our industry is not only heard but also respected at the highest levels of government. Their efforts have led to meaningful dialogues and impactful outcomes, safeguarding the interests of contractors and promoting energy efficiency, safety, and innovation.

This year, ACCA has also doubled down on its commitment to education and professional development. From robust training programs to dynamic networking events, the organization has created countless opportunities for HVACR professionals to grow their skills and businesses. The focus on delivering value to members has never been stronger, and it’s clear that ACCA is setting the gold standard for industry associations.

Serving on the ACCA Board of Directors has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I have had the privilege of working alongside an incredible group of individuals who bring passion, expertise, and vision to the table every single day. Their dedication to our shared mission is inspiring, and I am grateful for the relationships and camaraderie we’ve built. Together, we have tackled challenges head-on and embraced opportunities to strengthen the HVACR industry.

As I look to the future, I am filled with confidence in the leadership of Eddie McFarlane, who will take the reins as Chairman of the Board at ACCA 2025 in Greater Austin, Texas. Eddie’s deep industry knowledge, forward-thinking approach, and unwavering commitment to ACCA make him the ideal person to lead us into the next chapter. I have no doubt that his tenure will be marked by continued growth and success.

The future of ACCA is undeniably bright. With a strong foundation built on advocacy, education, and collaboration, ACCA is well-positioned to navigate whatever challenges lie ahead. I am excited to see how ACCA will continue to innovate and empower HVACR professionals, ensuring that our industry remains essential and thriving for years to come.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Barton James, the ACCA staff, my fellow Board members past and present, and every ACCA member for making 2024 a truly remarkable year.
