Matt, How Do I Get the Dispatcher to Help the Tech Collect Payment When the Job Is Done?
In this edition of "HVAC Skill Builder," Matt discusses how to get the dispatcher to help the tech collect payment when the job is done
Matt, how do I get the dispatcher to help the tech collect payment when the job is done? Great question. Uh goes back to letting the customer know when there is a payment that's applicable. The dispatcher or the call taker should let them know. Let the customer know that there's going to be a charge and ask them how would you like to pay, check, cash, or credit card and when they book the call, they need to put down, spoke to Mrs. Jones. She said that she's going to pay the service call with the check. So, when the technician goes out there and the technician wants to get an authorization to do a diagnosis. You can get the customer to sign on a special part of the invoice if there's a service call and that you'll quote them a repair once you have a diagnosis but the asking the customer how they intend to pay is going to be a big help for you and having that documented in the invoice of the technician knows that conversation went down. And the lights went off.
