November 20 at 12 PM ET: New Developments on ACCA’s Crusade for Sensible NEC GFCI Requirements 

There’s a new code change cycle coming, and ACCA is at the forefront with two key proposals for the 2026 edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC).  

ACCA has submitted proposals to:  

  • Exempt Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) protection for dedicated condensate pumps serving HVACR equipment in basements  
  • Extend the GFCI exemption for outdoor HVACR equipment from September 1, 2026 until 2029 

This session will feature David Bixby, ACCA’s manager of codes and standards, and John Ambrosino, ACCA’s voting member on the NEC Code-Making Panel (CMP) No. 2. They will break down the latest developments from the October CMP-2 meeting and outline ACCA’s strategy for moving these proposals forward.
