Hey Ed, Would You Recommend the Use of Mini Split Heating and Air Systems to Compliment a Standard Air Heat Pump System?
In This Edition of “Hey Ed,” Ed Discusses the Use of Mini Split Heating and Air Systems to Compliment a Standard Air Heat Pump System
Hey Ed, would you recommend using mini split heating and air systems to complement a standard air heat pump system? That's not a bad idea. This is something that I read recently from the Florida Solar Energy Center. If you're unfamiliar with them, they've been doing quality real-life tests on air conditioning system systems and heat pumps for a long time. They did a study on adding a mini split to a home with the idea that it would lower the cost of conditioning the house for the homeowner. I don't necessarily or one hundred percent agree with that logic. Uh, but that was not my intent. My intent with adding some additional capacity was to give those people who frequently ask us for a bigger unit a way to get more BTUs into their house without raising the dew point of the house or essentially oversizing the air conditioning. And that can be accomplished with that strategy. And that's the way I see it.
