Hey Ed, what’s this thing I hear you say about turning the TV up when the system comes on? - Forced air systems are not supposed to be loud to the point that people will acknowledge that they’re running. One of the things in a sarcastic tone, I will often say is a system that requires you to turn the TV up when it runs is not a good thing. It’s simply for the fact that it’s not. A properly designed forced air system will be one that you may or may not be able to hear at all and more times than not, you might hear the tick tick whoosh of a furnace lighting off or the gurgling of a refrigerant going through a coil, but that’s all you should hear. If you have duct systems that require the occupant to turn the TV up when they come on, you need to come take one of my classes and that’s the way I see it.
