Hey Ed, what is comfort?
In this edition of “Hey Ed,” Ed discusses comfort.
Hey Ed, what is comfort? Comfort is what we sell. Comfort can be described in many ways, but one of the things that I want to really, really emphasize is simply the fact that when you tell somebody that you’re going to deliver comfort, you have to define what that comfort is. For me, defining comfort is I’m going to give them a temperature and a relative humidity. I’m going to use design conditions for inside the structure, that being 75 degrees and 50% relative humidity. That is my design. That doesn’t mean that’s where I have to maintain the sensible temperature all the time, but that’s how I’m going to define comfort, and that’s the way I see it.
