Hey Ed, should all condensation lines be insulated?
In this edition of “Hey Ed,” Ed discusses if condensation lines be insulated.
Hey Ed, should all condensation lines be insulated? Every condensation line that can get cold enough to sweat should be insulated. Every condensation line that could possibly freeze should be insulated. But if the pipe is not in a location where it can sweat during the cooling season or freeze during the heating season, I don’t see any reason to do it. Again, this is a read the manufacturer’s installation instructions and be familiar with the code is in your location. And that’s the way I see it.
