Hey Ed, do ceiling fans help?
In this edition of "Hey Ed," Ed discusses the efficacy of ceiling fans in the summer and winter months.
Hey Ed, do ceiling fans help? - Yeah, ceiling fans can definitely be our friend. This is in conflict with me saying don’t blow air on people, but that’s specifically out of our distribution system from our HVAC. When it comes to a ceiling fan, having air movement on people is a positive in the summertime. It’s definitely a negative in the wintertime. The simple act of air moving across your skin is gonna allow your perspiration to more readily evaporate, which gives you the cool feeling, which is good in the summertime, and is the bad thing that’s going to happen in the wintertime, and that’s the way I see it.
