Hey Ed, do A2Ls cool as well as A1 refrigerants?
In this edition of “Hey Ed,” Ed discusses A2L vs. A1.
Hey Ed, do A2Ls cool as well as A1 refrigerants? I’ve heard a lot of bickering as of late and it’s not just with the A2Ls. It goes back to people will make a statement like 410A doesn’t cool as well as 22 did. And I’m simply going to say that that is not true. Everything has to do with how cold we can make the coil out and the volume of air that moves across it. And if the person doing the design and the commissioning of that system sets it up properly, I can run a system that is 30 years old and a system that is 3 minutes old in the very same fashion. It all comes down to the commissioning process along with a proper design. And that’s the way I see it.
