Hey Ed, Chris Says He Has Always Been Taught to Only Have Staggered Takeoffs
In this edition of "Hey Ed," Ed talks about staggered takeoffs.
Hey Ed, Chris says he has always been taught to only have staggered takeoffs. Is this still true? This is another one of our takeoffs. Can they be across from each other type questions? And the idea behind duct design or manual D, I’m gonna say they’re not the same thing. So when I hear that staggered takeoff thing, it usually comes from something that I would not refer to as manual D, because manual D requires the use of dampers. And when we use dampers, we can force the air to go wherever it wants. So if we do have the ducts placed so they’re directly across from each other, we can make it go where it needs to with those dampers. So the idea of having them staggered, it’s not a bad idea, but it’s not required. And that’s the way I see it.
