Hey, Ed, are the capacities in the AHRI ratings good for anything? The AHRI database is an excellent way to compare various makes and models of air conditioning and heat pump systems. It bears no resemblance to manufacturers’ expanded performance data, and that is what should be used when we select equipment. I have heard people say that you’re supposed to use the AHRI guide to select equipment, and that is simply not true. And that’s the way I see it.
