From the Desk of Barton James, ACCA President and CEO

CHANGE. Change isn’t always easy, but it’s necessary. The world is changing every day. Customer wants and needs are cycling, technology is evolving, and how we do business is constantly progressing. ACCA has always seen the value in change. What started as the National Warm Air Heating and Air Conditioning Association in 1914 became Air Conditioning Contractors of America in 1968. We have a history of changing to better serve our members.

That is why we are the only nationwide association representing the technical, educational, and policy interests of U.S. businesses that design, install and maintain heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. We work tirelessly on behalf of our members to make sure we are constantly innovating and providing the necessary resources that our ever-changing industry requires.

Your association is at the forefront of workforce development, creating educational tools for our members, ensuring HFC refrigerant phasedown regulations are good for contractors, and lobbying on Capitol Hill, making sure every congressman knows that ACCA members are the backbone of the American economy, and way of life.

To continue to be the best possible HVAC trade association and to fulfill our members’ needs, we have made some important ACCA staff changes over the last few months. With these changes, we are able to provide you with even more tools and resources that will help your business.

Please welcome, Matt Grizzard, Deb Weiner, and Matt Akins.

Matt Grizzard, Director of Membership and Advocacy is responsible for membership outreach, recruitment, and retention. If you have questions regarding your member discount & rebate programs, or other membership benefits, Matt Grizzard is your guy. He answers to Matt or Grizz! Matt.grizzard@acca.org

Deb Weiner, Manager of Communications was brought on to develop more content that tells ACCA’s story. She manages ACCA’s messaging through press releases, videos, and by managing the ACCA social media channels. If you have a story you would like to share, Deb wants to hear it. Deb.weiner@acca.org

Matt Akins, Manager of HVACR Education is responsible for developing technical education resources and curriculum, coordinating ACCA Certified Educators, and providing technical support to members. If you have questions regarding HVAC education, Matt Akins wants to help. Matt.akins@acca.org

The ACCA team is an extension of your company’s staff and we want you to know that we have your best interest always in mind and are available as a resource, so please reach out with any comments or questions you may have.

Onward and Upward,

Barton James,

President and CEO
