ASAE CEO Symposium

Continuous improvement is a cornerstone of how ACCA strives to raise the bar in the HVACR industry. Last week, ACCA President and CEO Bart James and executive committee board members Martin Hoover, Eddie McFarlane, Matt Marsiglio, Vince Gillette, and Kurt Hudson exemplified this commitment by attending the ASAE (American Society of Association Executives) CEO Symposium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

ASAE, known as the premier source of learning and future-oriented research for association professionals, hosted the CEO Symposium to bring together association leaders from around the country. The event focused on refining skills, sharing knowledge, and strengthening collaboration among boards to drive mission-centered leadership.

For ACCA’s leadership team, the symposium was an opportunity to deepen their understanding of effective governance, strategic leadership, and best practices for association boards.

Through their participation, ACCA’s leaders gained fresh perspectives on how to strengthen board governance, enhance collaboration, and further ACCA’s mission to support its members and advance the HVACR industry. This continuous pursuit of leadership excellence ensures that ACCA remains a trusted advocate and innovator within the HVACR industry.

Before the event, James reiterated ACCA’s commitment to continuous growth and innovation, emphasizing the importance of adapting to industry changes and cultivating a culture of collaboration. He highlighted how these core values are reflected in ACCA’s ongoing efforts to support its members and advance the HVACR industry.

“At ACCA, we are constantly looking for ways to strengthen the way we operate,” James said. “The ASAE CEO Symposium provides board members and executive leaders with the tools to ensure we remain aligned in our governance practices while continuing to deliver value to the HVACR community.”

This year’s participation marked the third cohort of ACCA’s volunteer contractor leaders to attend the ASAE CEO Symposium. These leaders are committed to bringing back insights that will not only guide ACCA’s operations but also help train leaders within ACCA’s Allied Contracting Organizations at the state and local levels.

“Our board represents the highest standards of professionalism in the HVACR industry,” said Hoover, chair of the ACCA Board of Directors. “Participating in events like the ASAE CEO Symposium ensures that we operate with integrity and remain focused on elevating our industry through sound governance.”

“It is our hope that the knowledge we gain at this symposium will empower us to serve our members even better and reinforce our commitment to supporting contractors and their teams,” he added.

ACCA continues to position itself at the forefront of association excellence through this event and others that the leadership team plans to attend in the next year. This dedication ensures the organization remains agile, innovative, and fully prepared to support the evolving needs of its members.
