Stan Johnson Honored With Spirit of Independence Award

During the Chairman’s Banquet at the ACCA Annual Conference, Stan Johnson of Stan’s Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. in Austin, TX, was honored with ACCA’s highest individual honor, the Spirit of Independence Award.
Johnson has long been seen as a leader in the HVACR industry. He served as Chairman of the ACCA Board of Directors in 2009, President of the Texas ACCA, and President of ACCA Austin.
But, what truly makes him stand out in the industry is his unwavering focus on government relations on the national, state, and local levels. He helped focus ACCA on government relations during his time as Chairman, because the association was facing a number of challenges from politicians and competitors, and helped raise ACCA’s stature on Capitol Hill.
Johnson has also been a driving force behind the association’s embrace of whole building performance, and early on had a vision of expanding ACCA beyond traditional HVACR.
Johnson has also dedicated his time and energy to almost every major ACCA program in the past decade — from Manual J8 to the QI standard to the QA program.
