Hey Ed, Is taking static pressure measurements a good indication of a system’s airflow?
In this edition of “Hey Ed,” Ed discusses if taking static pressure measurements is a good indication of a system’s airflow.
Hey, Ed. Is taking static pressure measurements a good indication of a system’s airflow? A system’s airflow can be exactly what we need it to be if our static pressures are within range. But far too often, people associate the idea that a static pressure measurement is an airflow measurement. And it’s not. Static pressure measurements can give us an idea of the health of a system. Or when compared to blower data, we can get an estimate of that system’s airflow. But don’t confuse the two. A static pressure measurement is not an airflow measurement. And that’s the way I see it.
