ACCA’s Design Essentials training series is back with a full August lineup. With nine courses covering the fundamentals every contractor should know. — from load calculations and equipment selection to duct design and air distribution — you’ll get the complete foundation in ACCA’s residential design standards.

Building strong design foundations 

Understanding design fundamentals changes how your systems perform. When you know how to calculate loads properly, select appropriate equipment, and design ductwork that circulates air where it needs to go, your installations work better from day one. 

These courses break down the ACCA manuals into knowledge you can apply immediately. Each session focuses on one aspect of residential system design, from basic concepts through complete system replacement.

Cooling system fundamentals – August 12: This session covers refrigeration cycles, key components, heat transfer principles, and diagnostic techniques. Learn how cooling systems remove heat and what happens when components fail.
