Matt, What Are the Four CS of Invoicing?
In this edition of "HVAC Skill Builder," Matt discusses the four Cs of invoicing
Matt, what are the four Cs of invoicing? The four C's of invoicing, number one, is going to be the call. That's going to be the reason for the call. For example, Mrs. Jones called in and said her upstairs air conditioner is not working. The second C is going to be for the cause. You need to diagnose if possible the direct and indirect problem that caused a failure for that equipment. For example, you diagnose the Mrs. Jones air conditioning system upstairs has a bad 45 5 microfaring capacitor. Number three is going to be the cure. What did you recommend to get that system up and running or provide any enhancements or upgrades to the system. For example, on top of replacing the capacitor, you may identify that the drain pan does not have a safety float switch in it which could relate to other problems and the cure is going to be the options that you present to your customers and the last one, the last C is going to be for code. Have you identified any code deficiencies in that home that's within your scope of licensing and something that you need to bring to the customer's attention and once you identify all those C’s, be sure to write them down in your invoice to better protect you and your company.
