Hey Ed, What’s the Difference Between Sensible Heat Ratio and Sensible Heat Factor?

Hey Ed, what’s the difference between sensible heat ratio and sensible heat factor? That’s a real good one and that’s something that’s new, in fact, we’re gonna see that hopefully before years end in manual S. Sensible heat ratio is a relationship between the amount of heat that is sensible versus latent, with equipment we'll talk about the equipment’s ability to drop temperature at the sensible BTU’s, any amount of water that it can remove from the air or latent BTU removal, that has always been of a difficult task to describe that and call it sensible heat ratio while a structure or a home also has a sensible heat ratio and it’s how much air conditioning is required to drop the temperature of the air or remove sensible BTU’s and how much water has to come out of the air or remove latent BTU’s, so you’d have to go through this explanation of sensible heat ratio as it applies to a structure and equipment, so for simplicity sake, one of the manufacturers started to publish sensible heat factor and that’s the term that’s gonna be used to describe the sensible heat ratio of equipment and we're gonna stick with sensible heat ratio for the sensible heat ratio on a structure and that's the way I see it.
