Hey Ed, How Important Is a Drip Leg for Gas Line?
In this edition of "Hey Ed", Ed discusses how important a drip leg is for a gas line.
Hey Ed, how important is a drip leg for gas line? That is another subject that can be aggressively debated, in some markets the natural gases is wet, and it’s an absolute necessity. In some markets, it’s not. The biggest thing or the most correct thing to follow would be to install that drip leg at a change in direction of the pipe and I will always say that that’s the best way to do it. If you look at the installation instructions from some manufactures, they will show it in line with a straight piece of pipe and it really comes down to, there is a preferred method and then still an acceptable method and I will always take that change in direction of the pipe is my first choice if I indeed have a choice and that’s the way I see it?
